{"id":6339,"date":"2025-01-24T13:58:03","date_gmt":"2025-01-24T12:58:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/darkgreen-crane-601020.hostingersite.com\/rek\/about-rec\/"},"modified":"2025-06-25T12:32:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T10:32:10","slug":"about-rec","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/rekportalen.no\/en\/rek\/about-rec\/","title":{"rendered":"About REC"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"header\">\n<h1>Regional committees for medical and health research ethics (REC)<\/h1>\n<p><strong>Pre-approval from REC<\/strong><br \/>\nThe regional committees for medical and health research ethics must give pre-approval:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Medical and health research projects<\/li>\n<li>General research biobanks<\/li>\n<li>Exemption from confidentiality for other types of research<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">General inquiries should be directed to the REC in the geographical region to which you belong.<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Inquiries about submitted applications and cases should mainly be made via the portal or directed to the REC region that processes the case.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"body\">\n<div class=\"my-2 content contentview\">\n<p>E-mails should be sent to <a href=\"mailto:post@helseforskning.etikkom.no?subject=REK-%7Bskriv%20inn%20region%2Fkomit%C3%A9%7D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">post@helseforskning.etikkom.no<\/a> with the name of the relevant REC\/committee in the subject field (REK s\u00f8r-\u00f8st A\/B\/C\/D, REK vest, REK midt or REK nord)<br \/>\nThe committee secretariats can be contacted by phone or e-mail. Meetings with the secretariat\/case officer should be arranged in advance.
